Job Title:

Warehouse Specialist

• Responsible for accurate receiving, storing, picking, cutting, packaging and shipping of product to meet the company’s OPS metrics in safety, quality, service/velocity and waste/cost reduction.
• Operate forklift or other powered material handling equipment (MHE) safely and efficiently.
• Fill customer orders and deliver them to the correct staging area, ensuring completeness and correctness of all orders.
• Ensure that quantity, quality, packaging, labeling and addressing of outbound orders meet customer specifications.

• Count all products, compare to packing lists, and check shipments for damage.
• Report shortages, damages and mis-shipments on appropriate forms.
• Sign for inbound shipments when necessary and unload shipments to proper storage locations.
• Efficiently and safely stack and store products in appropriate areas.

• Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment and assemble orders as necessary.
• Carry or transport orders to correct shipping locations and apply required markings, labels or tags.
• Be capable of lifting repetitive loads, including multiple spools of electrical wire, as part of a 12-hour shift.

• Compare quantity, labeling and address with customer order to ensure completeness and correctness of outbound shipments.
• Accept signatures for outbound shipments as necessary and move product into trailers or containers efficiently.

• Load/unload empty reels and reels of electrical wire and participate in the rewinding process to customer specifications.
• Stringing wire from payoff through the counter to the take-up and ensure proper packaging, marking and tagging per customer specifications.

• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Follow company quality guidelines and report quality variances.
• Use ISO Quality System documentation to guide daily quality activities.

• Maintain equipment in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance on assigned equipment daily and operate equipment safely and efficiently per prescribed work methods.
• Comply with OSHA and company standards.

• Keep accurate records and reports to ensure tight inventory control and security.
• Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts and ensure proper stock rotation.
• Make key inventory adjustments in computer systems.

• Repack or re-box cases per customer instructions and repair or recoup damaged goods as required.
• Operate shrink-wrap machine and manage forklift battery charging; repair pallets and clean trailers and truck bays as requested.
• Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping and packing as needed.

• Coordinate with all functional areas within the service center, especially Customer Service, Transportation and Maintenance.

• Follow all environmental rules and procedures to minimize environmental impact.
• Follow safety rules to prevent injuries and maintain safe equipment and conditions.
• Consult safety representatives on safety matters and support safety activities and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area and assist in maintaining warehouse security.
