Hours and Schedule- Monday-Thursday (June 9 - July 31) - 9:15 am – 12:00 pm
- Saturday (July 12 - August
2) - 9:15 am – 12:00 pm
Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, the Learn to Swim Coordinator performs management duties such as administrative and supervisory, directing the operation of the swim lesson program. The Learn to Swim Coordinator is responsible for the training, scheduling, and evaluating of the swimming lesson staff and the overall operations of public and private swim lessons. The Learn to Swim Coordinator should provide a safe environment in which the swimmers can fully develop their swimming potential in our Learn to Swim program.
DutiesAnd Responsibilities
- Act as facility manager during swim lessons and report any issues to the Program Supervisor
- Report to lessons a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the start of swimming lessons and remain until all closing LTS procedures are completed and all staff have left the facility and grounds, or the Pool Manager arrives for the day to open the facility. Lock and secure the facility as part of closing procedures, if required.
- Train, schedule, and supervise Learn to Swim Instructors/Aides and ensure that an adequate number of instructors/aides are assigned to teach each class level.
- Must always be on deck during Learn to Swim program lessons to ensure that all participants are placed in groups that will enhance their learning experience and that all instructors and aides are keeping participants safe in, on, and around the water.
- All accidents and injuries which occur to any employee or patron are to be documented in the appropriate form. This form must be left for the Pool Manager that day.
- Supervise Learn to Swim staff in the performance of their duties and submit a written performance evaluation on each Learn to Swim staff at the end of the pool season.
- Prepare report cards for instructors to fill out and ensure that all participants receive their report card at the conclusion of each session.
- Maintains an inventory of equipment and supplies needed for the Learn to Swim program and is responsible for the care of the equipment.
- Enforce all pool rules and regulations, supervise all LTS participants and spectators when necessary.
