Position SummaryLearn to Swim (LTS) Instructors report directly to the LTS Coordinator. Instructs and assists with Learn to Swim lessons. Ensures the safety of LTS participants by enforcing pool rules and maintaining supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities- Work with all members of the Villa Park Aquatic Team to establish and maintain a positive TEAM environment maintaining participant safety in, on, and around the water.
- Work with LTS Aides to teach effective swim lessons.
- Effectively communicate and demonstrate positive professionalism with participants, patrons, Aquatic Team members, LTS Coordinator, Pool Manager, Program Supervisor, and Village Administration.
- Communicate with the participant’s parents regarding their child’s progress as appropriate.
- Complete report cards for swimmers at the end of each session.
- Consistently enforce all pool rules and regulations on and off duty, work cooperatively in a team, and maintain crowd control in the event of an emergency when appropriate.
- Participate in professional, mandatory, paid in-service training throughout the season.
- Make a reasonable effort to independently solve problems, referring problems beyond your comfort to the LTS Coordinator.
- Perform other pool duties as requested by the LTS Coordinator, Pool Manager, Program Supervisor, and Village Administration.
- Learn to Swim (LTS) Instructors must be a minimum 16 years of age or 15 years of age with a valid work permit.
- Must have current WSI/BSI certification.
