A well‑established legal organization is seeking a talented Legal Secretary to join a collaborative team of dedicated legal professionals in its Chicago office
. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation secretary who thrives in a fast‑paced, service‑oriented environment.
The Legal Secretary will provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to multiple attorneys. This role requires a proactive, organized, and detail‑driven individual who can work independently, anticipate needs, and maintain strict confidentiality. The ideal candidate is professional, resourceful, and committed to delivering exceptional work and outstanding client service.
Key Responsibilities- Manage case files and handle document production
- Perform extensive e‑filing in administrative, state, and federal courts
- Draft, proofread, and edit correspondence and legal documents
- Communicate with clients, courts, and attorneys as needed
- Apply knowledge of state and federal court rules and civil procedures
- Maintain legal calendars using electronic rule‑based calendaring systems
- Coordinate multiple attorney calendars, meetings, and travel arrangements
- Process travel and expense reimbursements
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with timekeeping and document‑management systems
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a litigation secretary supporting multiple attorneys
- Experience in transactional law or administrative hearings is a plus
- Hourly Rate: $30-$40, commensurate with experience
