- Operate commercial vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Plan and follow efficient routes to meet delivery schedules while adhering to traffic regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and other team members regarding delivery status and any issues that may arise.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B appropriate for the vehicle operated.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with log and tree cutting operations
, including safe handling and transport of materials. - Ability to operate a knuckle boom
, or willingness to be trained to safely and proficiently use knuckle boom equipment.
- Experience in long-haul or regional driving.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and route planning software.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The required skills for this position include strong driving abilities and a thorough understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance. Attention to detail is essential for conducting inspections and maintaining accurate delivery records. Effective communication skills are necessary for interacting with clients and team members, ensuring that all parties are informed and satisfied. Time management skills are crucial for planning routes and meeting delivery deadlines.
Preferred skills, such as familiarity with ELDs and route planning software, enhance efficiency and contribute to the overall success of the delivery process.
