Water Operations Supervisor

Join our Vienna Team! Located about 15 miles west of Washington, DC, the Town of Vienna is a safe, vibrant, and environmentally conscious community with a population of over 17,000, with a water distribution, sanitary sewer collection and stormwater system.

The Town is seeking an experienced and motivated Water Operations Supervisor to lead field crews in the operation, maintenance, and repair of our water distribution and storage facilities. This hands‑on leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, excels at managing people, and is committed to safety, service reliability, and high-quality work.

In this position, you will provide daily leadership and direction to water operations staff, including training, coaching, and performance evaluation. You will oversee fieldwork and crew assignments, plan and coordinate projects, and respond to water system emergencies and service disruptions. Ensuring OSHA compliance and safe work practices is a core expectation. The role requires frequent coordination with engineers, contractors, and various Town departments.

Candidates should have at least six years of experience in water or wastewater system operations, including two years in a supervisory role—and strong communication and computer skills. A Class B CDL with tanker endorsement and a Virginia Waterworks Operator Class VI (or ability to obtain within 12 months) are required, along with OSHA 30 certification within the first year.
