The Assistant Store Manager is an experienced leader who manages the day-to-day service, sales, and operational objectives in a store location. The role focuses on leading a team to grow and deepen customer relationships by delivering TD’s model of convenience, sales and advice, and differentiating with a personalized, connected experience. This role can lead the Store with minimal direction and has the knowledge and experience to make decisions for day-to-day work on the teller line or platform.
Responsibilities(Depth & Scope)
- Lead a team of advice and service colleagues to achieve individual and store objectives, delivering legendary customer and colleague experiences and meeting performance goals.
- Provide day-to-day team leadership and direction to ensure effective/efficient delivery of personalized/complex service and advice, while maintaining compliance and regulatory guidelines.
- Oversee the most complex or diverse sales advice activities involving multiple steps, systems, partners, and complexity.
- Demonstrate knowledge of financial concepts and a broad range of products, services, and tools; apply TD’s consultative approach to deliver end-to-end customer advice (educational content, consultative support, proactive insights).
- Drive and reinforce advisory activities through coaching, oversight, and communication; ensure proactive product recommendations align with customer needs and complex banking requirements.
- Remain informed about the local market, competitive offers, and economic trends to support advice recommendations.
- Handle high-risk issues and determine appropriate resolutions.
- Coach the team on advice giving strategies and product/service knowledge; establish daily/quarterly/annual objectives.
- Deliver end-to-end advice by providing information/tools for financial management and real-time insights.
- Identify advice opportunities and referrals to support business growth; participate in community events and promote the TD brand.
- Engage with customers/prospects, manage leads (self-generated and partner referrals), conduct outbound outreach, set/host appointments, and prioritize leads.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience working with customers and/or sales in any capacity or equivalent
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to provide legendary customer service
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Sales and operational management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Previous consumer and residential lending experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of banking products and services preferred
