We are looking to add new talent to our growing team. We are currently seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients.
This is a full-time position located in our Vienna, VA office.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Split time and responsibilities between field assignments and office assignments.
- Lead portions of technical project work from project scoping through final deliverables under the direction of senior staff.
- Apply academic and industry knowledge, as well as skills obtained from prior work experience, to execute project work.
- Provide training, guidance, and informal mentoring to junior staff on their projects and within your technical discipline.
- Under the direction of the senior staff, participate in communications with clients, agencies, and internal teams within your discipline.
- Perform or oversee geotechnical engineering technical evaluations, data summarization, and design.
- Conduct basic construction observation, including quality control and field testing tasks.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of activities both in the field and during data evaluation.
- Perform all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
- Demonstrate the company’s foundational safety behaviors.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient at writing technical reports to meet project requirements.
- Able to work independently on individual tasks supporting technical work and exhibit the ability to manage tasks and perform work on multiple projects or multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Desire to learn and grow in your profession, demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility, and ownership.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or relevant geotechnical analysis software.
Preferred
Skills:
- Professional certification or planning to obtain professional certification, as applicable to the discipline.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates.
- Specialized software applications relevant to geotechnical engineering.
- Revit skills a plus.
