Visitor Center Clerk

The Visitor Center Clerk is responsible for assisting with the daily operation of the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens Visitor Center.
Pay Rate: $13.75 per hour

• Visitor services: greet visitors; operate cash register to sell tickets and gift shop items; provide information; answer telephone inquiries; interpret educational exhibits; perform daily opening/closing procedures for the Visitor Center building and cash register.
• Receive deliveries, guests, and phone calls and route them to the appropriate staff member.
• Assist with implementation of professional photography registration and rules.
• Perform basic facility maintenance chores: assist with watering and weeding Visitor Center plants; clean restrooms, gift shop, lobby and other areas of Visitor Center as necessary.

• Considerable ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the public and staff members to provide excellent customer service.
• Interest in botanical gardens and horticulture.
• Ability to handle cash accurately and operate cash register.
• Availability to work additional hours during peak operating times.
• Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
