Position Title: Business Support Specialist II
Location: Fairfax County, VA / Winchester, VA / Pensacola, FL (Hybrid)
Clearance Requirements: None
Position Status: Contract
Pay Rate: $22 - $24 per hour
Position DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented Business Support Specialist II to support operational and financial processes by resolving escalated inquiries, researching account discrepancies, and improving system and business workflows. This role serves as a key liaison between business units, supporting operational stability, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is analytical, solutions-focused, and experienced in handling moderately complex operational issues related to member accounts, financial systems, and General Ledger activities. This position also contributes to system testing, implementation efforts, and operational enhancements that improve efficiency and accuracy across the organization.

Key Responsibilities- Research, analyze, and resolve escalated inquiries related to member accounts, loans, and operational systems
- Investigate and correct discrepancies impacting financial records and General Ledger accounts
- Ensure systems and processes comply with regulatory, policy, and procedural requirements
- Identify operational gaps and recommend process improvements and corrective actions
- Support testing, validation, and implementation of system enhancements and new technology solutions
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives related to new systems, products, or services
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to resolve system and equipment issues
- Perform detailed research and analysis to support operational decision‑making
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely issue resolution
- Strong experience in business operations support, financial operations, or banking operations environments
- Advanced analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills
- Experience resolving account discrepancies and operational issues
- Understanding of financial systems, General Ledger processes, or accounting‑related workflows
- Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
- Strong proficiency navigating multiple systems and enterprise applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
