Annual Salary: $80,000
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in government contracting.
- Strong knowledge of Service Contract Act (SCA) compliance and wage determinations.
- Hands-on experience with Unanet ERP system is required
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with payroll software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience with Unanet or other government contractor accounting systems.
- Knowledge of FAR, CAS, and other federal contracting regulations.
The Senior Accountant must have a strong background in federal contracting, with specific experience with month-end close processes and accounts payable operations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a deep understanding of government regulations, and the ability to ensure accurate, timely financial operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Oversee AP processes including invoice review, coding, and payment approvals.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing and entry of Vendor Invoices, Vendor Payments, Billing, Customer Payments
- Ensure compliance with FAR and company policies.
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment issues.
- Support month-end close by preparing AP accruals and reconciliations.
- Support the 1099 reporting process
- Prepare and submit required government reports related to payroll and labor compliance.
- Assist with audits (internal, external, and government) by providing accurate documentation.
- Maintain knowledge of evolving government contracting regulations and accounting standards.
- Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely posting of all transactions in compliance with GAAP, FAR, and CAS
- Maintain organized audit-ready files and support internal and external audit requests.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for cash and credit card accounts
- Analyze variances and provide explanations to management.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support leadership decisions
