** Summary
* * The Heavy Equipment Operator – Organics processes green waste and other organic material by using loaders and various sorting, grinding, and screening equipment throughout the day to produce high quality compost and mulch.
** Job Description

* Essential Job Functions:

*** Maintain safe operating conditions of equipment and area at all times
* Perform pre and post trip inspection of all equipment operated daily
* Work with peers as a team in completing major tasks successfully
* Perform material grading and properly process material to create final product
* Immediately report any unsafe equipment or actions to direct supervision
* Work overtime as needed
* Performs other duties as needed by direct supervision.

* Required Qualifications:

*** High School Diploma and/or GED
* 1 year of operating 950 CAT, 938 CAT, Hauling Truck.
* Must be able to read and understand safety rules, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions for equipment
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Exceptional organizational skills
* Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Bilingual – English/Spanish.
* Class A or B commercial driver’s license
* Acceptable driving record
** Physical/Environmental Demands:
*** Physical:  + Standing, walking, sitting, seeing, hearing, touching, stooping, lifting, & smelling continuously.  + Problem solving, oral/written communication, analytical ability, concentration, & interpersonal abilities continuously.  + Eye/hand coordination, visual depth perception, handling, & wrist motion continuously.
* Environmental:  + Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet/hot conditions, windy conditions & noise continuously.  + Exposure to flying debris and sharp objects occasionally.  + Works outside only.
** Salary:** $25.24 - $28.05 per hour

** Monday - Saturday from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm##
