Position Description

Armed Guards must complete all Level 1 and Level 2 Guard training. In addition, extensive firearm‑handling training is required, including pre‑assignment, post‑assignment, and annual training.

Training Requirements

Completion of Level 1 and Level 2 Guard training.
Firearms training (if applicable):
Pre‑assignment training, Post‑assignment training, Annual training.

Expected Responsibilities

Observe, report, and assist with de‑escalation of incidents at all client location sites.

Conduct oneself in a manner that promotes and maintains good public relations.

Create and maintain accurate written reports and supporting documentation of all unusual or important incidents. All abnormal incident reports will be submitted via the client’s Automated Incident Report System.

Remain alert and continuously operate an organized, efficient guard service system.

Anticipate criminal acts and take remedial action by discerning a person’s conduct. Keep all persons under surveillance:

Recognize, know, and identify regular client employees.
Recognize, know, and identify persons from the government and private sectors who repeatedly visit the premises.
Be mindful of all other persons on the premises.

Furnish and maintain accurate written records for the client as provided in guard manuals.

Perform all duties with competence and skill under capable supervision.

Know and obey all applicable laws pertaining to the duties outlined.

Confront and deescalate commotions and disturbances with a firm politeness.

Courtely direct and assist the public and others with information and guidance.

Notify law enforcement and assist in the apprehension of lawbreakers.

Avoid engaging in personal familiarity unless instructed.
