Adelphi is seeking Registered Nurses (RN) to provide services at a correctional facility in Victorville, California. The ideal candidates will provide nursing care to inmates at the facility while ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards.

Requirements
  • Valid and unrestricted California license
  • BLS (AHA)
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience (preferably in a clinical or correctional setting).
Responsibilities
  • Administer medications as prescribed i.e., by mouth, intradermal, subcutaneously, or intramuscularly.
  • Assist with distribution of medications at pill line.
  • Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmate.
  • Take medical histories, examine patients, and order and interpret laboratory tests and xrays.
  • Perform venipuncture for the purpose of obtaining laboratory specimens.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Assist in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of the health care services.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating and revising program plans.
  • Provide direct patient care services in accordance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards.
  • Perform nursing duties within the scope of the current licensure.
