HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer, Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Installation Technician
Primary Purpose
Assist heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) technician to maintain, repair and install heating and air conditioning systems and equipment throughout the district. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all HVAC systems in district facilities.
Qualifications- Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- Special Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Physically fit with good manual dexterity, eye‑hand coordination and sense of balance
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
- Good human relations skills and ability to work with others
- Learn/progress toward journeyman classification
- Experience
- Some knowledge helpful, but not required

Tools/Equipment UsedMeters, gauges, welding equipment, ladder, hoist, hand and power tools, pipe bender, propane torch. Light truck or van.
Posture/Motion/LiftingContinuous walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, carrying and heavy lifting. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outside and inside.
EnvironmentExposure to extreme temperatures; frequent district wide travel, occasional prolonged and irregular hours; work indoors and outdoors to conduct on‑site inspection of all facilities and construction projects; work around machinery with moving parts; work on ladders or scaffolding.
Mental DemandsWork with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; communicate effectively and professionally at all times.
