Job Overview
Transdev in the City of Victoria, TX, is seeking an experienced Light Duty Technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on engines.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
- Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for engines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Light Duty Technician.
- ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
- Mechanic’s tool set.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical, if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Competitive compensation package: minimum $21.00 – maximum $24.00 an hour based on experience.
- Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks.
- Sick days: 5 days.
- Holidays: 12 days (8 standard and 4 floating).

- Company‑paid ASE testing, training materials, and tool reimbursement.
- Work outdoors in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions—100% of the job is performed outside, work alone, and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
