Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as an advisor, trainer, educator, and auditor; assist and support the facility Administrator and Director of Nursing.
  • Review operational systems, maintain records, and promote adequate level of care to facility residents.
  • Assist with hiring of managers in an advisory capacity only.
Essential Functions
  • Promote interdisciplinary communication within the facility.
  • Meet with the Administrator upon entrance and exit to communicate findings and develop Plan of Corrections.
  • Communicate pertinent findings throughout the day to the Administrator and Director of Nursing.
  • Initiate and assist the facility with the Plan of Correction; include observations, record reviews, and interviews.
  • Follow up on agreed Plan of Corrections after each visit and submit written reports to QA Consultants, Director of Nursing, Administrator, and relevant staff.
  • Observe staff performance during direct care activities (rounds, ADLs, med pass, meal service, etc.).
  • Review consultant reports, regulatory reports, policies, and facility reports; promote consistency and regulatory compliance.
  • Actively participate in corporate quality assurance and quarterly policy/committee meetings; recommend policy and procedure changes.
  • Provide training to the Director of Nursing, Assistant Directors of Nursing, Administrator, and facility staff; research training methods and resources.
  • Assist and participate in the enhancement of resident lives, financial review, monthly QA meetings, and staff development and retention.
Qualifications Educational/Training Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Licensing Requirements
  • Must possess a current Texas RN licensure and a current RUG certification.
Experience Requirements
  • Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.
