Position Overview
The Purchasing Department is recruiting for a part‑time Purchasing Assistant to work 30 hours per week. This position is responsible for providing assistance to the Director of Purchasing, maintaining bid files, processing requisitions, purchase orders and change orders when needed in specialized software and maintaining purchase data in Excel spreadsheets.

- High School diploma or GED required.
- Associate Degree in Professional Office Technology, Business, Accounting or related field preferred.
- Three years administrative assistant experience required with strong customer service skills.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs; with emphasis on excel.
- Ability to safeguard sensitive or confidential information from intentional or unintentional disclosure.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Skill in proofreading materials to ensure accuracy.
- Ability to use a 10 key calculator and basic office equipment.
- Ability to independently identify and undertake tasks to support efficient operation of the College.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to learn and utilize specialized software.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and meet deadlines, plus ability to adapt to changing priorities.
