The Esquimalt Recreation Centre is a multi‑purpose wellness and community recreation facility. Features of the Recreation Centre include: 4500+ square foot Wellness Centre, featuring state‑of‑the‑art cardio and strength training equipment, gymnasium, aquatic centre with six‑lane 25 metre lap pool, warm “lifestyle pool” and tot pool with spray features, wheelchair accessible hot‑tub, steam room, and sauna. In addition, to recreation activities and programs, there are hundreds of year‑round community programmes to choose from.

The Recreation Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill a Birthday Party Host position. This is an auxiliary position with scheduled shifts on Saturdays and Sundays between 1:00pm and 4:00pm. Reporting to the Recreation Programmer – Child, Youth, and Family Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• The set‑up and clean‑up for the parties
• Supervising the bouncy castle
• Interacting with parents and engaging the children in games and activities.

The ideal candidate will have:

• First Aid with CPR‑C
• Clear criminal record check including vulnerable sector check
• Experience working with and supervising children

Salary: $20.63 hourly which includes 14% in lieu of benefits (2024 rates)
