this position serves as an information technology specialist (infosec) working for the chief, computer incident response team (cirt) branch of the us army corps of engineers (usace) army corps of engineers information technology (g6) cyber security directorate. Employee is a technical expert for digital forensics and incident handling initiatives or roles as assigned by the cyber incident response branch chief/cyber network defense division chief on it systems security principles, concepts, and methods for the purposes of transforming, modernizing, and enhancing the digital forensics and incident handling capabilities of usace.

this is a direct hire authority (dha) solicitation utilizing the dha for certain personnel of the dod, section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

- the incumbent is required to file an oge form 450, financial disclosure report upon entering on duty in this position and annually thereafter.

- relocation (pcs) expenses may be authorized (subject to available budget) if the selecting official determines the relocation is in the best interests of the government.
- this position must be in compliance with the return to in-person work (rtipw) requirement to work in an approved usace applicable facility.
incumbent (or selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in dod publication 8570.01-m information assurance workforce improvement program, dated 19 december 2005 (incorporating change 3, january 24, 2012 and any subsequent changes). As a condition of employment within six months of appointment must possess or be able to obtain and maintain iat-iii (cisa, gcih, gced, casp, or cissp (or associate)) or cndsp auditor (cisa, gsna, or ceh) and computing environment (ce) certification.
This position also requires itil v3 foundations.
this position is an on-call 24x7 and/or incumbent may be required to work overtime as mission requires.
tdy is required up to 25% of the time.
positions requiring a top secret / tier 5 clearance are also covered by the civilian drug abuse testing program; such incumbents will be required to sign a da form 5019-r, “condition of employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the drug abuse testing program,” or a memorandum of understanding (mou).
