Position: Lead AIT Engineer -  Satellite Assembly & Production
Competitive compensation to be negotiated. This is role  requires relocation to Athens, Greece,  with full relocation support provided.

We are recruiting a  Lead Team AIT Engineer in Athens  on behalf of an international space technology company expanding its Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) activities in Europe.

Our client specializes in the development and operation of  Earth observation satellite systems , delivering mission-critical data and insights to public and commercial stakeholders worldwide. Their technologies support applications such as security and surveillance, maritime domain awareness, environmental monitoring, disaster response, and industrial risk management. Operating in a dual-use context, the company combines advanced engineering with operational reliability and is recognized for deploying complex space systems at scale.

The role is based  on-site in Athens, Greece , and involves establishing and leading AIT activities at a growing integration site. This is a  hands-on technical leadership position , ideal for an engineer with  strong expertise in RF systems, electronics, and system-level testing  who wants to combine day-to-day engineering work with team leadership and technical ownership.

Requirements:

Education & Technical Background
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Strong foundation in RF systems, antennas, electronic boards, and RF test methodologies.
Practical experience with integration and testing of satellites or other complex electronic systems, ideally involving multiple subsystems.
Solid understanding of system engineering principles, including power systems, avionics, communications, and hardware–software interfaces.

Integration, Test & Troubleshooting
Hands-on experience using test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and RF measurement tools.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve issues across electrical, RF, and software domains during integration and system-level testing.
Experience in satellite AIT, space hardware development, or aerospace qualification campaigns.
Knowledge of environmental testing methods, including vibration, thermal vacuum, EMC, and anechoic RF testing.

Processes, Tools & Documentation

Strong documentation skills, including writing test procedures, integration instructions, and test reports.
Familiarity with configuration management practices (e.g. ECOs, deviations, waivers, version control).
Experience developing or maintaining EGSE/MGSE, automated test scripts, or custom hardware test setups.
Exposure to ERP, MES, or test data management systems is an advantage.
Production & Operational Environment
Willingness and ability to perform hands-on work on the production floor, including assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
Experience working in production ramp-up, Lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement environments is a plus.

Collaboration & Leadership

Demonstrated potential to mentor engineers, coordinate technical tasks, or lead defined work packages.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams (Engineering, Systems, Production, Test).
Fluent in English and comfortable working in an international, fast-paced environment.
