Building Maintenance

Job Overview

As a Maintenance Staff Member, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical systems and equipment are operational and properly maintained. All common areas will be kept clean, aesthetically appealing, and disinfected.

• Walk floors, including roof checks, and report problems to supervisors.
• Follow all safety precautions while performing work.
• Maintain working relationships with building staff.
• Review and touch up paint in common areas; advise manager when paint is needed.
• Complete daily work orders as scheduled.
• Keep assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Perform occasional manual labor, such as lifting or moving heavy items, following safety procedures.
• Perform minor maintenance replacements and repairs in areas of carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, flooring, and other building repairs through daily scheduled work orders.

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• 2+ years of general experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance, or handy work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Multiple language fluency is desirable.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs following appropriate safety procedures.
• Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time; be able to reach overhead; have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
• Work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time, climbing stairs, and navigating the property/building quickly and easily as required.
• Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 14 ft on A-frames and 21 ft on extension ladders).
• Work in different environmental working conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity).
• Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information by means of spoken and written word.
• Maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.

Hourly: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour. Salary may be based on skills and experience.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
