Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU/Telemetry Float Pool in Vero Beach, FL. Night shift travel nursing opportunity for experienced PCU/stepdown and telemetry RNs on Florida’s Treasure Coast. Join a teaching hospital float pool providing high-acuity care across Martin County hospitals (Martin North, Martin South, Tradition).

Required Qualifications (PCU / Telemetry RN)
  • Experience: Minimum 18 months recent PCU/stepdown or telemetry RN experience required; 2 years preferred
  • Licensure: Active RN license — compact or state RN license accepted (pending license may be considered)
  • Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required at submission; NIHSS required prior to start
  • EMR: Epic proficiency (level 3 or
    4) — Epic experience for travel nurses
  • Clinical Skills: Cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, management of non-titratable cardiac drips, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, oxygen therapy, non-invasive airway support
  • Compliance: Ability to complete time-sensitive pre-start modules and orientation assessments
  • Workplace Policy: Smoke-free facility — all travelers must be nicotine free (negative 10-panel + cotinine drug screen required)
  • Immunizations: COVID-19 & seasonal flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
  • References: Two references from direct supervisor/manager, ANM, or director required
  • Orientation Testing: EKG & Pharmacology tests required during orientation (2 attempts max; study materials provided)
Key Responsibilities — Travel RN, PCU / Stepdown / Telemetry
  • Provide high-quality clinical care as a Travel RN in PCU/stepdown and telemetry settings across multiple hospital sites.
  • Continuously monitor telemetry, recognize and manage arrhythmias, and escalate per policy (telemetry RN duties).
  • Safely administer medications and therapies including non-titratable cardiac drips and blood products.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and update individualized care plans, and document accurately in Epic.
  • Manage central and peripheral lines (dressing changes, troubleshooting, line care).
  • Provide oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway support as indicated; participate in rapid response/code teams when needed.
  • Follow infection control practices and appropriate use of PPE.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe transitions of care and provide patient/family education.
  • Float to assigned units within scope while maintaining consistent patient safety and quality standards.
