Indian River County, Florida has an amazing opportunity for an experienced candidate that meets the qualifications of a Traffic Engineer.
This candidate will perform technical and administrative work directing the activities and personnel of the Traffic Division to ensure safe and efficient transportation systems within the county. This role includes the planning, design, implementation, and operation of traffic control devices, traffic studies, development reviews and coordination with other agencies. The County Traffic Engineer supervises staff, manages budgets, and provides expert guidance on transportation-related matters.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering or related field plus five or more years of working traffic/transportation related experience. A master’s degree in civil engineering (Transportation Program) or transportation engineering may be substituted for one year of the required work experience.
A combination of education and experience will be considered.
The ideal candidate will possess the following licenses / certifications:
- Valid Class E Florida Driver’s License
- Current registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
* Registration as a Professional Engineer in another state will be considered provided the applicant can obtain Florida registration through reciprocity within six months of hire.
