Performs technical reviews of engineering plans associated with building permits, with specific emphasis on lot drainage. This is a paraprofessional engineering support position, working under the general direction of the County Engineer.
- Single Family Residential Conceptual Drainage Plan and ROW Permit Reviews
- Type C Flood Management System Permit Reviews
- Pool and Screen Enclosure Permits
- Generator and LP Tank Permits
- Murphy Act Road Reservation notification letters
- Subdivision Master Drainage Plan Reviews
- National Flood Insurance Program - interpreting floodplain management permitting criteria
- Type B Flood Protection-Stormwater Management System Permit review
- TRC reviews
- Elevation Certificate reviews:
- Review, resolve and release Engineering sign-offs for CO as needed
Associates degree and two years of experience in construction inspection, plan review, plan preparation, or related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations- Must possess a valid Florida’sDriver’s License.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of land surveying and flood plain management.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques of road construction and development construction.
- Ability to understand and reference County codes and regulations as applicable to Development and permit review.
- Ability to prepare letters and technical reports.
- Ability to effectively communicate with the general public and establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, developers, engineers, and other County Staff.
Work is performed inside in an office environment. Periodic site visits are required which will involve working outdoors with exposure to heat, dust, and inclement weather conditions.
