Position Information

The Senior Custodian, under supervision, provides daily, general cleaning services to the Vernon Agri Life Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:

• Performs tasks to clean and maintain the general appearance of assigned buildings, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleans/polishes metal hardware, spot cleans carpet as needed, stripping, waxing and buffing floors.
• Dust, disinfect, wash and clean walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, offices, common areas, restrooms, breakroom and meeting spaces.
• Collects and disposes of trash daily.
• Sets up the auditorium and/or conference rooms for meetings (i.e., furniture arrangement, extra chairs, etc.).
• Operate mechanical, electrical and battery-operated machines to aid in performing custodial cleaning duties.
• Check the interior and exterior lights weekly, clean and replace as needed. Report electrical problems to the maintenance foreman for repair.
• Exterior window cleaning, sweeping sidewalks and building entrances
• Assist with maintenance of Center grounds as requested by maintenance foreman and/or business administrator.
• Assist with building maintenance as requested.
• Maintain inventory and order janitorial supplies as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as required, and the ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Monitors and reports property damage, and vandalism to business administrator.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year of related experience.
• Ability to use a computer. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Salary: Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate's qualifications. This is an hourly paid position.
