Position Title:
High School Government & Economics Teacher
Vernon Independent School District is accepting applications for a High School Government & Economics Teacher.
Primary PurposeProvide students with instruction in Government and Economics in accordance with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate Social Studies certification
- Knowledge of subject matter and instructional strategies
- Ability to manage student behavior and maintain classroom discipline
- Plan and deliver effective instruction in Government and Economics
- Evaluate and document student academic progress
- Establish and maintain a positive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Comply with district and state policies and procedures
