Description
BNL Industries, Inc., a small, family-owned OEM manufacturer located in Vernon, CT, is seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator II to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist who thrives in a high-setup environment and takes pride in producing precision parts with quality and efficiency.
About the Role
As a CNC Machine Operator II, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes, mills, multi-turret machines, and mill-turn equipment. This position requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Our environment involves frequent setups and changeovers, so a solid understanding of CNC programming adjustments, tooling, and inspection is essential.
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, multi-turret, and mill-turn machines
- Work with HAAS, Okuma, and Fanuc controls
- Perform regular and complex setups
- Create, grind, and sharpen tools as required
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Inspect your own work using Standard Measurement Test Equipment (SMTE)
- Make program adjustments as needed
- Maintain and clean machines
- Keep work area organized and orderly
- Operate multiple machines simultaneously
- Follow written procedures and document changes
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Maintain high quality standards and attention to detail
- Follow all company procedures and safety guidelines
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Support overtime and production needs as required

- 3+ years of CNC machining experience
- 3-5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills
- Experience with HAAS, Okuma, and/or Fanuc controls
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and dial indicators
- Ability to perform complex setups independently
- Strong basic math/shop math skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience in a high-mix, high-setup manufacturing environment
- Experience operating multiple machines simultaneously
- Experience with mill-turn and multi-turret machines
- A detail-oriented, quality-driven machinist
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-setup environment
- Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting skills
- A team player who values organization, safety, and precision
