&Rise is a non‑profit organization dedicated to empowering trauma and abuse survivors to reach their full potential. We provide a safe and supportive community through various programs, including in‑person support groups, to facilitate healing and promote resilience.
Position Summary&Rise is seeking a compassionate and experienced In‑Person Support Group Facilitator to lead our support groups for trauma and abuse survivors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of trauma‑informed care and have proven experience working with survivor populations. This role requires reliability, punctuality, and a genuine commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for participants.
Responsibilities- Facilitate weekly in‑person support group meetings, adhering to &Rise's guidelines and principles.
- Create and maintain a safe, confidential, and supportive environment for group participants.
- Utilize trauma‑informed facilitation techniques to guide discussions and promote healing.
- Manage group dynamics effectively and address any challenging situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Provide resources and information to participants as needed.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and submit required reports.
- Adhere to &Rise's policies and procedures, including confidentiality and ethical guidelines.
- Arrive on time and prepared for each group session.
- Collaborate with &Rise staff and volunteers as needed.
- Proven experience facilitating support groups for trauma and abuse survivors.
- Strong understanding of trauma‑informed care principles and practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Ability to create and maintain a safe and supportive group environment.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature.
- Reliable transportation.
- Willingness to undergo a background check.
- Relevant degree or certification in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of local resources for trauma and abuse survivors.
- Must be able to commit to a consistent schedule.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must pass a background check.
We offer our facilitators $25 per group with the ability to do more than one group per week. This is a 1099 contractor position.
