Car Wash - Detailer - Daytime Shift

Overview

Waterway Carwash is looking for Daytime Car Wash - Detailers at our Vernon Hills location. As a Car Wash Associate, you will help clean vehicles outdoors with a focus on interior detail and exterior finishing, provide outstanding service, and ensure customers leave satisfied with their visit and car wash. The Detailer works as part of a team to efficiently clean the interior and finish the exterior of customer vehicles, and assist customers at various interaction points, including the carwash entrance and finishing stations on the exit lot.

Scheduling is flexible with daytime shifts and no late nights.

• Complete all necessary steps to thoroughly clean customer vehicles to a high standard based on wash package selected.
• Greet customers enthusiastically, assist into and out of vehicles, provide clear directions, and notify management when cleaning is complete.
• Drive vehicles onto and off conveyor, select wash type, and operate within safety guidelines; monitor traffic flow and surroundings.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment year-round to ensure a positive visit for every customer, including tasks such as picking up trash, sweeping, hosing areas, and other maintenance as needed.
• Wash and dry towels, stock cleaning supplies, and assist with back room and storage area cleanliness.
• Follow Waterway policies, procedures, and safety instructions; perform other tasks as directed by management.

• Current and valid driver’s license.
• Professional demeanor, behavior, and appearance in accordance with company policy.
• Ability to perform all essential functions safely without endangering oneself or others.
• Availability at least 2 days during weekdays (Mon–Fri) and ability to start shifts between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

• Outdoor work year-round; exposed to temperature variations, sun, rain, humidity, and fumes; occasional exposure to noise.
• Standing for long periods, bending, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, driving vehicles, reaching above and below shoulder level; fast-paced work with sustained physical effort.
• Vision and hearing to understand instructions and communicate with team members and customers.
• Fluent English communication required for business purposes.
• Regular, predictable attendance; may include weekends, extended hours, overtime, and holidays.
