Waterway Carwash is looking for Car Wash - Detailers at our Vernon Hills location. As a Car Wash Associate, you won’t just clean cars – you’ll stay active outdoors with your team, and you’ll be paid for every shift with flexible scheduling (no late nights).
The Detailer works as part of a team to efficiently clean the interior and finish the exterior of customer vehicles, and provide outstanding service to ensure every customer is satisfied with their visit and their car wash. The Car Wash Attendant will drive and clean vehicles and assist customers at various interaction points, including the carwash entrance and finishing stations on the exit lot.
Compensation: Competitive rates and cash tips daily. Average $18 per hour; top earners over $21 per hour.

Qualifications
- Current and valid driver’s license;
- Professional demeanor, behavior, and appearance in accordance with company policy;
- Ability to perform all essential functions safely without endangering oneself or others;
- Must be available at least 2 days during the week between Monday - Friday and able to start shifts between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Complete all necessary steps to thoroughly clean customer vehicles to a high standard based on wash package selected.
- Greet customers warmly, assist into and out of vehicles, provide clear directions, and alert management when cleaning is complete.
- Drive vehicles onto and off conveyor, program wash type and send vehicle; shut off conveyor if obstructions are in the way; monitor traffic flow and surroundings.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized environment year-round to ensure a positive visit (picking up trash, sweeping and hosing areas, pulling weeds, shoveling snow and salting customer areas).
- Wash and dry towels; fill and stock cleaning supplies; clean wash equipment, windows, doors, and walls; empty trash; vacuum canisters.
- Follow Waterway policies, procedures, guidance, and safety instructions.
- Other duties as directed by management.
Physical Requirements
- Environmental – outdoors year-round with exposure to temperature variations, sunlight, wet weather, humidity, fumes, and noise.
- Physical – extended standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, driving vehicles, reaching above and below shoulder level; fast-paced work with sustained effort.
- Vision and Hearing – normal to good visual and auditory acuity for business purposes.
- Language – fluent English communication with team members, managers, and customers.
- Attendance – regular, predictable, and punctual attendance; may include weekends, extended hours, overtime, and holidays.
