Senior Technician, Metrology
Reports To:

Position Summary:
Performs calibrations of instruments that measure the characteristics of objects, substances, or phenomena, such as pressure, temperature, time, force, torque, speed, flow, electric current, voltage, resistance, and derived units of physical, mechanical, or chemical measures. Identify and utilize appropriate measurement procedures. Perform corrective and preventative actions to address identified measurement problems and leverage continuous improvement techniques to enhance technical and operational performance.
Adapts equipment, standards, and procedures to accomplish unique measurements. Maintain calibration standards and perform laboratory housekeeping. Mentor associates and technicians on metrology techniques. Quantify and minimize sources of uncertainty within measurements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform calibrations, inspections and measurements on test equipment (IM&TE) to ensure measurement accuracy
- Uses assigned calibration standards and procedures
- Documents all aspects of calibration events in Mudcats database
- Evaluates the contract and workorder to ensure all work can be properly completed
- Assists customers in traceability or procedural questions in calibrations; resolves technical contract issues
- Develops and maintains preventative maintenance and laboratory safety/housekeeping programs and works with team to ensure compliance.
- Quantifies sources of measurement error and determines measurement uncertainty with TUR's.
- Prepares calibration reports which detail; methods, measurement data with uncertainties, TUR', and NIST traceability.
- Aids in setup of processes and paperwork related to calibration.
- Completes administrative tasks related to incoming calibrations as necessary.

- Mentors Metrology Technicians on new parameter and confirms Inno Cal's operations, quality, techniques and requirements are met
- Interpret technical documents, specifications, standards and procedures to accomplish calibrations to include unique measurements
- Creates Spektrak sheets for newly acquired standards to drive measurement uncertainties
- Quantifies and evaluates measurement uncertainties for Inno Cal's scope of ISO 17025accreditation
- Evaluates identified issues for root causes and performs corrective and preventative actions to address identified measurement problems and leverage continuous improvement techniques to enhance technical and operational performance
- Performs minor repairs as necessary.
- Prepares certificates and IM&TE for packaging.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- High School or equivalent degree required/PMEL or other military/technical training education preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years ofmetrology/calibration experience in a regulated/quality-controlled environment (ISO
9001, ISO
17025,ISO 13485, FDA). - Experience inmaintainingand following ISO
17025 and ANSI Z540 related procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in at least 50% of the parameters within
InnoCaland able to effectively train other associates. - Strong knowledge and adeptnesswith non-routine calibration techniques.
- Must havestrongdesire to service customersfullywithunwavering commitment to high quality to meet requirements of ISO 17025, ANSI/Z540-1.
- Attention to detail balanced with personal efficiency.
- Ability to read andcomprehendsimple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Able to performinternal procedureswithindustry standards, manufacturer procedures, etc. for the proper calibration and troubleshooting of instruments.
- Must have analytical skills toidentifysources of measurement error and to read and interpret technical schematics,specifications and calibration procedures.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressures, within deadlines or other time essential constraints.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, toclearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization.
- Strong work ethic and anability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Salary Range: $65,, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
