Service Engineer I

A global leader in drive and control technologies is seeking a motivated Service Engineer I to join a dynamic team specializing in hydraulic cartridge valves and electro-hydraulic control solutions for mobile and industrial equipment. With over three decades of innovation, this organization is committed to delivering high-performance components that support efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction across more than 30 industries.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain strong communication and relationships with customers through regular calls and updates
- Ensure timely and complete responses to Return Material Authorization (RMA) requests
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including production engineers, supply chain, quality assurance, and finance
- Prioritize customer claims to ensure timely resolution and satisfaction
- Visit customer production sites periodically to address issues with manufacturing and engineering teams
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to resolve recurring production problems
- Assist in harmonizing warranty and service processes
- Act as a liaison between quality teams and customers to resolve quality-related concerns
- Frequent sitting and standing
- Ability to lift 10-25 lbs as needed
- Occasional travel every 2-3 months to customer sites
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- 0-3 years of experience with a completed bachelors degree
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and quality tools
- Familiarity with Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety policies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MRP systems, and quality control software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
