Logistics Specialist

A growing North American organization is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to manage domestic and international shipments and ensure efficient movement of goods across the supply chain.

This role is responsible for coordinating transportation activities, maintaining compliance documentation, and ensuring timely delivery to customers while supporting inventory accuracy and operational visibility. The position works cross-functionally with internal teams, carriers, and customers to maintain service excellence and cost efficiency.

• Coordinate domestic, cross-border, and international shipments
• Tender, track, and dispatch shipments to ensure on-time delivery
• Resolve transportation, import/export, and customer issues.
• Negotiate freight rates and services across multiple transportation modes
• Analyze logistics routes for cost effectiveness and efficiency
• Maintain carrier compliance records and insurance documentation
• Support incident investigations and follow-up documentation
• Generate freight revenue reporting and shipment visibility

• Prepare and verify shipping documentation
• Ensure customs compliance for imports and exports (HTS/HS codes accuracy, duty, tariffs, Duty Claw back)
• Maintain regulatory documentation and safety requirements
• Manage hazardous and regulated material documentation where applicable
• Coordinate blind and double-blind shipments

• Maintain accurate data in ERP systems
• Update (Track, Trace, Report) orders and shipment status
• Coordinate warehouse and intercompany transfers
• Monitor inventory flow and order timelines

• Provide shipment visibility to internal teams and customers
• Support sales objectives through operational execution
• Communicate transportation updates across departments
• Assist drivers with site processes when required

• Investigate and resolve non-conformance issues
• KPI implementation/reporting
• Identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities

• Degree or diploma in Business or related field OR equivalent experience
• 3–5 years transportation/logistics experience
• International shipping experience preferred
• Customs knowledge required
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• ERP experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Remote capable with occasional travel
• Interaction with office, warehouse, or operational environments
• Moderately sedentary computer-based work
• PPE required when visiting operational facilities
