The District of Lake Country has an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Millwright based in Lake Country, BC.

Reporting to the Utilities Manager, the Millwright will maintain and optimize mechanical systems within our water and wastewater facilities.

• designs, lays out, installs, maintains, repairs, rebuilds and troubleshoots industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in the District’s water and wastewater facilities.
• Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds and services a variety of pumps, motors, valves, piping systems and other lift station and water/wastewater system equipment; performs welding and fabrication duties.
• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure reliability.

To qualify for this role, you must have a Millwright Journeyman and a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a journeyman Millwright in an industrial or public works environment. Additionally, a valid British Columbia Driver’s License (Class
5) is required.

As our ideal candidate, you have thorough knowledge of pumps, valves, and rotating equipment and excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
