OverviewKPMG’s Compliance Group in Business Enablement Services is looking for a Manager, Compliance & Risk Management to join our growing team. The group helps ensure the firm has internal controls that comply with professional, regulatory, and KPMG Global standards.
In this role, you will ensure the effectiveness of our internal controls, manage system‑of‑quality testing, and serve as liaison among teams to ensure testing complies with methodology.
What You Will Do- Review and monitor various compliance and internal audit activities supporting our system of quality management.
- Manage monitoring programs and process improvement initiatives.
- Conduct process overviews, identify performance improvement points, perform root‑cause analysis, and propose solutions.
- Improve file and process documentation to support internal audit inspections.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge for testing the design, implementation, and operating effectiveness of controls.
- Effectively manage stakeholders across the firm, communicating testing and documentation requirements concisely.
- Document testing steps in detail to support conclusions, ensuring evidence is adequate.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality‑related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify control deficiencies, report findings, and recommend improvements.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on compliance requirements, risk mitigation strategies, and control testing methodologies.
- Develop and update firm policies, processes, and tools to remain compliant with KPMG Global and local requirements.
- Promote audit quality, risk management, and independence processes and policies at the firm.
- Manage projects on an ad‑hoc and ongoing basis, identifying process enhancements.
- Supervise and review analyst activities, provide timely feedback.

The Role
- Minimum of 2 years client‑service experience in a large professional‑services firm or equivalent risk/internal audit/external audit function.
- Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.
- Project‑management background, including delivery of projects related to quality controls and testing.
- Interpersonal skills to manage key relationships with partners and staff.
- Managerial experience, including coaching and staff development.
- Research, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills to apply conceptual frameworks to new situations.
- Experience responding to complex inquiries, performing research, analyzing data, and documenting findings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to produce high‑quality deliverables.
This position requires written and oral fluency in English. Successful candidates may be required to support or collaborate with English‑speaking colleagues or stakeholders.
KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range InformationThe expected base salary range for this position is $74,000 to $111,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. Compensation within the range is based on location, skills, competencies, and qualifications. KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
