On-Call Elementary Teacher

We are looking for an On-Call Elementary Teacher to support students at the Okanagan Indian Band Cultural Immersion School, nkmaplqs i snmamayatn kl sqilxwtet.

• Perform the regular duties of the Classroom Teacher who you are filling in for
• Follow established yearly overviews, unit plans, and day plans
• Support the student-centered learning program in place which enhances the explicit programs our school delivers
• Integrate students with disabilities and challenges in a positive and respectful manner
• Supervision duties to include classroom supervision, field trips, & recess/lunch supervision
• Implement positive discipline when required in accordance with the School Handbook, which includes Conflict Resolution and Restorative Justice
• Ensure children have a safe and secure learning environment
• Attend Language and Culture classes daily with students to ensure classroom management and to learn language alongside with students. This includes local outings which may include hiking
• In case of extended teacher absence, collaborate to complete student report cards and interim reports using school-wide format
• Classroom supervision and management and supervise field trips and other supervision duties as required
• Ensure children have a safe and secure environment

Perform other duties as required

• Bachelor of Education, or equivalent
• Valid BC teaching certificate issued by the Teacher Regulation Branch or in the process of obtaining
• Current First Aid/CPR certificate or willing to obtain
