Overview
Job Summary: Technical specialist and primary customer support contact to diagnose and execute complex repairs to engine products at the customer’s site.
We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Vernal, UT. We offer sign-on bonus, relocation, competitive pay and benefits!
Responsibilities- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
- Complete complex internal engine repairs
- Perform complex unassisted engine overhauls
- Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
- Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
- Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
- High horsepower and generator experience preferred
- Good customer facing skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical
- CDL preferred
- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
- A current valid license is required for this role
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). years driving experience
- Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use requirements
- Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older
- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements
- Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
- Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
- Locally valid driving permit
- Licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations may be required
- Significant field service work experience
- Expert level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
- Customer service experience
- Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
