Job Title
Assistant Manager
Location & Pay01121 Vernal, UT – Hibbett Retail, Inc.
Hourly: $10.00 – $13.50
The Assistant Manager assists and consults the Store Manager in overall operations and administrative duties. They oversee store assets, inventory, and personnel, uphold Hibbett I City Gear policies, deliver outstanding customer service, and may assume full supervisory control in the Manager’s absence.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear
- Help establish action plans to meet departmental and overall store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling
- Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager
- Assist with overall personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation
- Provide guidance to employees and customers across all departments as needed
- Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments
- Direct staff to ensure departmental responsibilities and standards are completed
- Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends
- Maintain quality customer service and provide extraordinary help during peak periods
- Practice and uphold all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards as listed in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals
- Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal control procedures and reporting potential fraud risk
Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager. Conduct interviews, train staff, plan, assign, and direct work, and resolve issues in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications- Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear or athletic apparel
- 1–3 years of customer service experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to assist in managing a team and drive overall goals and profits
- Self‑starter with initiative to undertake important tasks without prompting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Team‑player passionate about outstanding customer service and merchandise sales
