We’re seeking a detail-oriented GIS Technician who thrives in a collaborative environment. In this role, you’ll work closely with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to provide valuable geospatial insights for a wide range of projects, including energy development, land development, and regulatory assessments. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, dependable, and eager to apply their GIS skills in a supportive, dynamic team setting.
This is an in-office position, located in Vernal, Utah (Candidate must be willing to relocate to the area).
Responsibilities- Manage, interpret, and analyze geospatial data to support various projects.
- Maintain and update databases to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Create maps, charts, and reports to assist the project team in decision-making.
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and clientele to integrate GIS data into project workflows.
- Utilize GIS software (Arc Pro and Arc Online) to manage geospatial datasets and perform spatial analysis.
- Contribute to the development of GIS models and tools to improve project efficiency.
- Coordinate the gathering and integration of GIS data from multiple sources.
- Ensure quality control for GIS data outputs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Information Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- In place of education, work experience will be accepted.
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, Global Surveyor, QGIS, or similar).
- Strong understanding of spatial analysis, enterprise geodatabases, and coordinate systems/projections.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, Arc Online.
- Familiarity with land surveying and engineering principles.
- Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
- Experience with remote sensing.
