Cook Assistant:
In the role of Cook Assistant , your meticulous approach and collaborative attitude will be invaluable. Assisting our Cook, you will play a vital part in promoting child wellness by supporting the effectiveness and efficiency of the nutrition services provided to Head Start children. Your patient and methodical nature will shine as you help maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all applicable CACFP and Head Start regulations.

What you’ll need to be our Cook Assistant:
Accommodating and analytical, while producing highly precise and accurate work
Collaborative and approachable with a preference for detailed, skill-based work
Consistent and methodical with repetitive routine and established procedures
High school diploma or equivalent
Why you’ll love working with us:
part-time, 20-hour workweek, seasonal, eligible for unemployment in the summer months
Starting wage at $16.16 hour (additional education will be considered in final pay rate)
What you’ll do as the Cook Assistant:
Create and maintain an inventory of food and non-food items at the beginning and end of each school year, and at other times as necessary.
Track budget for all food and non-food items, as well as keep complete and accurate records of all purchases by following our purchasing procedures.
Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitary.
Assist teaching staff in integrating nutrition education into the curriculum.
Create and maintain an inventory of food and non-food items at the beginning and end of each school year, and at other times as necessary.

Rural Utah Child Development (RUCD) is a comprehensive child development program designed to meet the educational, emotional, social, and health needs of children. The RUCD team works well together to provide strong support and leadership, creating a consistent and quality learning environment. Children receive individualized lesson plans with developmentally appropriate learning experiences, and families are involved with their children’s education while they receive assistance with personal goals, parenting information, and leadership through parent committees and Policy Council.
