Overview
Teacher in our Head Start program, dedicated to shaping the future of young minds in our community. You will provide individualized attention, collaborate with your classroom team to implement an engaging curriculum, foster school readiness, and support development in every child. Join Rural Utah Child Development (RUCD) as our Teacher, where your supportive communication with children and parents strengthens the home–school connection.
Responsibilities- Actively supervise and engage children using the universal active supervision plan, including zone supervision, counting, name-to-face methods, adhering to a daily routine, and ensuring no child is left alone.
- Follow RUCD behavior management procedures to ensure appropriate teacher–child interactions and safe practices (no maltreatment or harm).
- Support and promote RUCD Head Start School Readiness Goals with children and families.
- Implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences across language, literacy, mathematics, social and emotional skills, approaches to learning, science, physical development, and creative arts using RUCD curricula and School Readiness Goals.
- Prepare and follow daily lesson plans based on children's interests and individualized goals.
- Administer the Child Observation Record (COR) to assess growth, document accurate anecdotal notes, and use timely observations to inform scores and planning.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; or other qualifications as agreed upon with 15 credit hours in Early Childhood Education.
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with one year of paid experience with young children, or Associate Degree with 15 early childhood credits. Experience with children with special needs is desirable.
- Accommodating and analytical with a detail-oriented, precise work style; patient, conscientious, and a cooperative team player.
- Strong communication skills with children and families.
