Job title: Hotel Maintenance HVAC Tech
Responsibilities- Safe installation and maintenance of all commercial grade plumbing and HVAC systems including, but not limited to, building heat plants, ventilation systems, air conditioning, controls systems, refrigeration, and LP delivery.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial air conditioning and multi-zone heating and cooling systems.
- Identify maintenance risks on equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
- Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Provide technical direction and on-the-job training.
- Assist in a preventive maintenance program that encompasses all commercial buildings at JPR.
- Assist in researching and selecting materials for HVAC systems installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Maintain familiarity with maintaining a complex Building Management System (BMS).
- Implement energy savings projects.
- Work with other departments to ensure HVAC systems are operating as designed.
- Ensure compliance with appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, which could be related or unrelated to the original position.
- Education and/or experience:
One year certification from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Language skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public. - Mathematical skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume; apply basic algebra and geometry. - Reasoning ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. - Computer skills:
Experience with Microsoft Office and Building Management Systems. - Certificates, licenses, registrations:
Valid Vermont Operator’s License; eligibility for Jay Peak Inc’s motor vehicle insurance policy; LP, Refrigeration and HVAC certifications. - Other skills:
General knowledge of building maintenance practices and plumbing.

The work environment may include moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, wet or humid conditions, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Noise levels are usually moderate to loud. This is a Winter Resort Area with varied work venues, including steep stairs and outdoor work areas, often in very cold or sunny conditions. Some facilities may be located at the base or be semi-remote and accessible by chair lifts or travel between areas.
Proper footwear is essential.
- $5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS (if hired prior to 2/01/2026): $2,500 after 30 days of successful employment and attendance, plus $2,500 on April 1st.
