The Pre-Sales Clinical Specialist will primarily perform product demonstrations and evaluations for clinical acceptance, interacting directly with customers to provide advanced clinical ventilation application information, training, and support. The role will collaborate with sales, operations, technical personnel, and other Nihon Kohden team members to deliver customer experiences that meet or exceed expectations while assuring full compliance and efficient control of expenses.

Pre-Sales Clinical Specialists will also collaborate in support of customers’ post sales and long-term customer management as availability permits.

Responsibilities
  • Review all training materials, achieving a score of 90% initially and then annually on Product Knowledge Assessment, and be an expert on the operation of the NKV Series Ventilator Systems.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and manage clinical evaluations of all products.
  • Ensure delivery of equipment, itemization of contents, electrical testing by hospital’s Biomed and other requirements are completed prior to product evaluation or new product installation, and provide ongoing documentation.
  • Provide ongoing clinical customer support either in person or by telephone.
  • Make travel arrangements according to company policies and complete expense reports within the designated timeframe.
  • Maintain clinical knowledge and competence and keep an active respiratory therapy license and Registered Respiratory Therapy Credential.
  • Proactively advise, coordinate, and communicate between customer and Nihon Kohden resources to resolve complex ventilation team issues and ensure timelines are met.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business need.
Qualifications
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy or related discipline preferred; relevant education and experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Valid unrestricted respiratory therapy license issued within the United States.
  • Active NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • 3+ years of clinical specialist experience with a respiratory critical care device company.
  • Well‑rounded critical care experience with strong knowledge of cardiopulmonology and ability to troubleshoot complex respiratory ventilation issues.
  • Level and compensation depend on location, experience, education and skills.
Competencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to present information in one‑on‑one and group situations to customers and other employees.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret equipment manuals to effectively present complex information to customers and Nihon Kohden personnel.
  • Working knowledge of Windows PCs, proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Office programs.
  • Ability to manage hazardous physical, chemical, and biological agent exposure.
  • Flexibility with schedule and changing working environments.
  • Self‑motivated and can be managed remotely.
  • Effective written and verbal communication in English.
  • Can work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Compensation

Your Total Target Compensation (TTC) is composed of a $110,000 base salary plus incentives for achieving defined business goals, including commission, bonus, business objectives, or combination thereof.

Working Conditions

Schedule
:
Regular hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday. Holiday, weekend, and evening work may be required. On‑call availability by phone 24/7 may be expected. Hours may vary and are subject to change at the company’s discretion.

Physical
:
May require reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying up to 40 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision. Specific details may be provided.

Travel
:
Approximately 80%.
