Our Client Hospital is seeking an experienced Manager of Healthcare Quality to support and advance system‑wide quality, patient safety, and regulatory readiness. Located in scenic Vermont, NCH is a nonprofit Critical Access Hospital serving the rural Northeast Kingdom, where quality leadership has a visible, meaningful impact on patients, staff, and the community.
This role has been recently restructured
, creating an opportunity for a quality leader to shape priorities, strengthen infrastructure, and partner closely with senior leadership.
- Serve approximately 27,000 residents across two counties, where quality initiatives directly influence access, outcomes, and patient trust.
- Emergency services, surgery, maternal‑child health, ICU, diagnostics, dialysis, and multiple rural clinics provide diverse quality and performance improvement opportunities.
- Strong executive team and volunteer board foster clarity, collaboration, and support for quality initiatives.
- CMS‑certified and licensed facility with emphasis on readiness, compliance, and continuous improvement.

The Manager of Healthcare Quality facilitates and coordinates the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program to ensure high‑quality, safe, and compliant healthcare services.
This position oversees quality improvement strategies, performance measurement, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration across the organization.
Reports to: Executive / Senior Director of Quality
Key Responsibilities- Lead system‑wide Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Ensure compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation
, state, and regulatory standards - Oversee quality data collection, reporting, and analysis
- Support survey readiness and accreditation activities
- Partner with clinical and operational leaders to drive measurable improvement
- Supervise and develop quality‑focused team members
- Promote a culture of safety, transparency, and continuous improvement
- Support patient experience and population health initiatives
- Oversee 2 Quality Management Coordinators
- 3+ years of recent healthcare or hospital quality experience
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) required
- CPHQ certification preferred or expected within 3 years of hire
- BSN or MSN
- CPHQ certification
- Experience with CMS surveys, quality reporting, and performance improvement in a hospital setting
