$30.00/hr - $45.00/hr

A Fiber Technician performs in-home fiber installation and maintenance services through a series of tasks involving a range of building types, from large commercial structures and office buildings to private homes. Tasks involve installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables for high-speed data transmission and communication infrastructure.

• Resolve, repair and install fiber optics systems, ensuring that they work properly.
• Examine and replace faulty and/or old fiber optic cables.
• Rectify fiber optic problem areas.
• Inspect worksite, so that a faulty fiber optic system does not destabilize its performance.
• Keep track of the signal strength of different devices including: television, telephone, and high-speed internet.
• Formulate and maintain system records and system designs.
• Educate customers on services and assist with setting up customer owned devices.

High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with experience in fiber installation preferred but not required.

• Ability to stand, walk, sit
• Ability to use hands to handle or feet
• Ability to reach with hands and arms
• Ability to climb and balance. Use or ladder required.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
• Ability to work in tight spaces (attic/crawl space, etc.)
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs
• Ability to maintain all safety expectations
• Works outdoors for extended periods.
• Exposed to extreme weather conditions.
• Utilize hand and power tools

Ability to follow directions.

Ability to work as a team.

Oral communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills.
