Bring your appetite for adventure to the kitchen! Camp Abnaki is looking for Food Service Team members to help fuel campers and staff through days packed with archery, canoe races, goofy songs, and nonstop energy. From flipping pancakes at sunrise to sharing smiles at dinner, you'll be part of the behind‑the‑scenes magic that keeps camp running. If you love good food, good people, and a good dose of summer fun, this role is the perfect recipe.
This seasonal position has a contract from June 9 through August 22. Possibilities of pre‑season and post‑season work are also available.

- Prepare and cook meals:
Assist with preparing and cooking meals for campers and staff while following menus, dietary needs, and portion guidelines. - Support meal service:
Set up and break down the dining hall and serving stations for every meal. - Keep things clean:
Wash dishes and maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dining area. - Handle food safely:
Follow all food safety protocols, proper storage methods, and personal hygiene standards. - Assist with dietary needs:
Help accommodate allergies, restrictions, and special diets under the direction of the Food Service Director. - Use equipment safely:
Operate kitchen tools and machinery correctly and report maintenance needs. - Stay organized:
Help with inventory, storage, and stocking to keep the kitchen running smoothly. - Support the team:
Jump in where needed to make meal service efficient and positive for everyone.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous food service or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively with a team.
- Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) safe food handling and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a physically active role, including standing for long periods and lifting to 50 lbs.
- Must be willing to live on‑site for the duration of the camp season (housing and meals provided).
- Ability to navigate camp property, including uneven terrain and remote areas.
- Visual and auditory awareness to respond to safety hazards.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to promptly and adequately respond to all emergency situations on camp.
