Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (Adult) travel position in Vermont, requiring a minimum of 3 years of acute care experience and a current VT or compact RN license.

• Night shift hours: 7pm–7am, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• General Med/Surg unit serving primarily adult patients, with occasional pediatric patients
• Scope of care includes medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, and swing bed patients
• Every other weekend is required
• Meditech EMR experience is preferred
• 13-week contract
• Coordinate and provide comprehensive patient care for adult and occasional pediatric patients in a general Med/Surg unit — this is not a dedicated pediatric floor
• Works under the accountability of the Unit Director and collaborates closely with the Clinical Nurse Lead and/or Nursing Supervisor
• Care approach emphasizes holistic patient needs including physiological, psychosocial, spiritual, and developmental considerations
• Facility is a 25-bed critical access hospital offering primary, preventive, surgical, specialty, inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services
• All required credentials must be uploaded at least five business days prior to the start date
• Travelers begin their assignment on Wednesdays

• Active VT RN license or compact multi-state RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 3 years of acute care RN experience required
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications required
• Flu vaccination is required — no exceptions
