Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and demonstrate exceptional patient care skills. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing compassionate care to patients recovering from surgery or managing medical conditions. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Duties
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitor vital signs and report any changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health management.
  • Assist with procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, and wound care.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in discharge planning and provide resources for post-acute care needs.
Qualifications
  • You need to have at least 2 years of experience in medical-surgical (med surg) or telemetry (tele) units.
  • Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is very important.
  • You must have experience with IV medications (drips).
  • It is good to have experience in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), but it is not required.
  • The traveler should be open to working in any inpatient unit that matches their skills.
  • You need to have at least 3 months of travel work experience. This is very important, and more experience is better.
  • Experience in smaller critical access hospitals is preferred.
  • You must have your own vehicle for this job.
  • Any time off requests (RTO) must be included in your application. We will not make any special arrangements during your work assignment.
Certification Requirements
  • ACLS certification (from AHA).
  • BLS certification (from AHA).
State License Requirements
  • A Vermont license is required.
