We are seeking a detail-oriented, mechanically inclined SMT/PCB Equipment Operator to support our surface mount technology (SMT) line and printed circuit board (PCB) assembly processes. This hands-on role is critical to maintaining high product quality, efficient throughput, and timely customer delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and monitor SMT assembly equipment including stencil printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) systems.
- Perform manual assembly tasks including hand soldering, depaneling, and visual inspection.
- Load and maintain component feeders and ensure accurate inventory usage.
- Perform preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on SMT equipment.
- Inspect assembled PCBs for solder quality, alignment, and defects using magnification tools and AOI results.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve process issues.
- Document production data, quality checks, and equipment performance.
- Ensure adherence to ESD, safety, and cleanroom procedures.
- 2+ years of experience operating SMT/PCB equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with SMT processes and IPC-A-610 standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work instructions, and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, focused team.
- Comfortable with basic computer skills (data entry, interface with machine software).
- Experience with Yamaha, Mycronic, or similar pick-and-place systems.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, lean manufacturing, or quality control systems.
- Background in LED lighting, electronics, or precision assembly is a plus.
- Full-time, on-site position in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
- Standing for extended periods and handling small components.
- Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
